Why I LOVE working from home.

love my job

So it has now been 7 months since I left my last job in an office at Kuoni and started working from home at cruise.co.uk. I can honestly say it has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. I wanted to leave it this long before writing a blog about it as I feel In the first 6 months of your job you are still in your honeymoon period. For people who  know me know that I am very ambitious and running my own business has always been a passion of mine. What they also know is that I am very active and working from home had the potential to make me go stir crazy. So this was a big decision for me. I want to tell you about a few reasons why this decision became a no brainer and I can no longer picture myself working in and office again.

1: The commute. This could sometimes add an hour and a half to my journey. As well as this you would save money on parking in town or spending time on a bus stopping every 5 minutes to let people on. I think within that time where you aren’t getting paid you could put it to far better use. You could go to the gym, take the dog out, spend extra time in bed or in my case work that extra hour and a half with the potential to make more money through sales or answer any customers emails that you have received enabling you to be focused and raring to go by the time you officially start.

2: More Productive. I first thought that with no staff to talk to I would get lonely. Believe me you have no time for that.  If you do want to talk there is always someone on the other end of the phone. I find that now I work on my own I am 100% focussed on the job in hand and am not distracted in turn making me way more productive.

3: Improved social life. As I know do my own rota, If I want to have a weekend off or finish early on a wednesday lets say, then I will. I am scheduled to do 150 hours a months although I do work more hours that that. (Way more). I choose to do this as this job is something that I really enjoy. Where you work from home it doesn’t feel like work.

4: No need to wear a uniform. If I wanted to sit at home in your boxers for 7 days straight then I absolutely could. This has got to be a plus. Think how much money you save on washing powder. The problem is though you do tend to eat more food so where you are making a saving on washing your are losing out on the food side of things.

These are just a couple of reasons why working from home is great. I think everyone should try it just once and if you are anything like me you wont regret it.

If you have travel experience and feel like this could interest you feel free to message me and I will happily go through things in more detail.
