Sex, drugs and ports of call. (Life on board a luxury cruise ship)

I recently read an article from a former cruise ship employee. He was explaining that having sex, taking drugs and making friends in the onboard sex dungeon was a regular occurrence on board one Caribbean cruise liner. Despite having sex with the clients being a sackable offence the staff would have no qualms getting involved. He also mentioned that the riskier the better so as well as having sex in the staff decks they would like to push the boundaries on the unpopulated decks.

It wasn’t just sex, there was also drugs involved. The former employee explained “It was easy to get drugs” Buying them off shore and bringing them onboard. The crew members would do bag checks but their were ways to hide them.

There is no mention of what ship this was on and I am not sure that is not just a bitter ex employee. What I do know is that customers pay a lot of a money to go on a once in a life time cruise and they expect to get what they pay for. Can you imagine if there is an emergency on board one of the ships and some off the staff are not 100% focused. This could lead to serious repercussions.

There were also reports of people getting arrested by the ship security all the time. With 4000 plus passengers on board and the drinks flowing it is not surprising that there is some sort of trouble. I haven’t personally seen anything on the ships I have been on so far but imagine it could happen.

I have always had exceptional service on every ship I have been on. I haven’t heard of any other reports of these things happening, however it would be interesting to hear your thoughts on this. Has anyone out these worked or know of anyone who has worked on board a cruise ship does this sort of thing take place??
