Royal Caribbean. Does one size suit all?

So it seems over the last few years cruise ships are getting bigger and bigger. With Royal Caribbean having seven out of the top ten in their fleet I wanted look at the different ships they have to offer and why big ships aren’t for everybody. I will talking you through their ships. From Symphony of the Seas. Currently the largest ship in the world to Serenade of the seas. with a capacity of under 2500 passengers. I know this is still on the larger scale compared to some cruise ships however it is still some 4000 passengers less than Symphony.

Symphony of the seas.

Give in to temptation in the Royal Promenade’s designer boutiques, take an Al fresco lunch in Central Park, or enjoy some fun time with the family on the Boardwalk – with our seven unique neighbourhoods, it’s up to you. You will find So much to do in Pool and Sports Zone from rock climbing walls to the zip line nine decks up, two surf simulators to epic water slides. Entertainment Place is a buzzing evening hotspots where you can enjoy Broadway hits, jazz club and the biggest casino at sea. After all that excitement you can recharge your batteries at the Vitality at Sea Spa & Fitness while your kids have fun at The Youth Zone with Facilities for kids all ages from tots to teens.

Hold your breath as the Aqua Theatre’s Olympic-level high divers perform stunning aerial acrobatics, plunging into the deepest pool at sea. Take a nostalgic ride on the colourful carousel and treat the kids to ice-cream at the Sugar Beach Store. With rock climbing walls and the new Playmakers Sports Bar too, the Boardwalk is a whole heap of fun.

Take a fresh-air stroll among Central Park’s 12,000 trees and exotic plants, admiring the beauty of Nature onboard. Stop off for a coffee in the Park Café, relax in one of the bars and restaurants or browse the tempting shops. Why not enjoy a gourmet tasting menu at 150 Central Park, created by award-winning chef Michael Schwartz?

Independence of the Seas

Independence of the Seas has returned after a multi-million pound makeover. With a whole host of new extra extraordinary activities onboard. The best part is you can sail straight from Southampton.

Spring into an extraordinary virtual world on the new bungee trampoline experience, Sky Pad

Strap in, put on your virtual reality headset and soar high into the sky for gravity-defying fun at Sky Pad Bounce over craters or compete in zero-gravity games — this brand-new bungee trampoline experience opens up a universe of possibility.

Images of Independence of the Seas reflect current design concepts and may include artistic renderings and/or images of existing Freedom and Voyager Class ships. All ship features, experiences, and itineraries are subject to change without notice.

Discover what watery adventures you can take part in on your Royal Caribbean cruise! From the FlowRider to the swimming pools, there’s so much to enjoy.

Serenade of the seas.

Where this is a smaller ship you can go to destinations the larger cruise ships cannot get into. Spot bears, bald eagles, whales, seals, wolves and sea otters in amazing Alaska. Soar above glaciers in a helicopter, admire breath-taking views from a gondola, run with huskies or learn about Native American cultures in this awe-inspiring wilderness.

There’s no need to miss your workout while you’re on holiday thanks to our fantastic, state-of-the-art fitness suite. And when it’s time to unwind, there’s a wealth of indulgent treatments to choose from at the blissful Vitality Spa.

Above are just 3 of the ships in the fleet so although one size shio will not suit everybody, with over 25 ships in the fleet it would be hard to find something on another ship that Royal Caribbean doesn’t have to offer
