It’s about time too. P&O have just made one huge decision.

It is the moment that most of P&O and cruising fans in general have been waiting for. They have finally caved to the demand and will offer drinks packages.

Most of the other cruise lines have been offering a drinks package for a long time an it has proven very popular. With other liners you would get the option to opt in or out of having drinks so i’m not entirely sure why it has take P&O so long to follow suit. For me personally I think its a great idea. I have worked in travel for nearly 12 years now and been on many holidays around the world. In the time I have been selling holidays I think I can count on one hand the amount of full board holidays I have sold. Full Board meaning all your food however not drinks. I am not sure why cruising has to be any different.

At the moment P&O will just be trialling this and it isn’t a guarantee they will be keeping it. Below is some more information as to how its all going to work.

At the moment they will be trialling it on the Azura only. The trial will run from the 21st of July for one month. All being well they could roll this out across the entire fleet by 2019. The drinks package at present can only be booked onboard however I think this is likely to change.

The Package is going to cost £39.95 per person per day. I think this is a reasonable price in comparison to the other cruise lines. The Alcoholic package will include Beers, spirits, cocktails and wines by the glass. You will also receive hot drinks soft drinks Mocktails and water. Much the same as cruise lines is that each adult in a room will have to have the drinks package. you cannot just have it for one. There will also be childrens soft drinks packages available.
