My reasons why This ship Eclipses most of the rest

Last weekend I was lucky enough to sample the Celebrity Eclipse. It is the largest ship in the Celebrity fleet. For me this wasn’t an issue, with a ratio of one member of staff to every two passengers always standing by ready to help with a beaming smile on there faces

Sadly I was only on board for the day, so didn’t get to cruise anywhere. I did however get to explore all 15 decks and I can honestly say it didn’t disappoint.

After embarking from Southampton, I headed straight up to top deck to enjoy the views. Instead of Barcelona or Rome to look out at, I had the please of viewing Ikea. Something that took me surprise while I was up there was the real lawn they had. Manicured to perfection. This is something I have never witnessed on a cruise before. Here you can enjoy a game of bowls or croquet.

When it came to the other features onboard, every taste was catered for. From a collection of the finest artwork to Las Vegas style Casinos. There is also a luxurious spa to relax and get pampered in.

I only managed to see the suites while I was on board. Not that I’m complaining. They were some of the biggest rooms I have ever seen, in hotels, not to mention at sea. With whirlpool Jacuzzis and a grand piano, definitely worth paying a bit more for.

Finally I will save the best bit until last. Food Glorious food.

I was lucky enough to sample a five course taster meal. If yo have ever been to a Michelin star restaurant, you will know what I’m taking about. The chateau Briand melted in my mouth and the chocolate brownie at the end gave me a warm fuzzy feeling inside. Or maybe that was the wine the waiter kept topping up.

All in all I would definitely recommend the Eclipse. You can see where is gets its name from as it Eclipses most of the cruises I have ever been on.
