The countdown to Iona!

It’s now less than a year to go until P&O launch their brand new ship Iona in May 2020! Their last ship Britannia launched to much fan-fare back in 2015, I was lucky enough to spend the night on-board on the launch day! Iona will be the largest P&O ship ever built accommodating 5,200 guests and 1,800 crew.

Iona will be based in Southampton and will initially be operating 7 night departures to the stunning Norwegian Fjords from May to September 2020.  From October 2020 until April 2021, the ship will then offer various European itineraries including the Med, Canaries & Western Europe and they have some fantastic prices available!

I am most excited to see the SkyDome! It opens from 7am where you can enjoy a morning coffee. It will have the feel of an English park in Summertime and will have a grill, pizzeria and street food and even an ice-cream shop called Sundaes. There will also be 3 bars and you can also enjoy casual dining too. You can also spend some time relaxing in or by the swimming pool. At night, SkyDome comes alive with dazzling light shows and the swimming pool even transforms into a stage for the evenings entertainment and there will also be amazing aerial acrobatic shows – how cool is that?! After the shows end, DJs will get the party started whilst you dance under the night sky!

Iona is going to be revolutionary for the UK cruising industry and I couldn’t be more excited to see what my customers think! I’m hoping that there will be a travel agent opportunity to experience the ship, if not I will just have to book my own cruise on her! And looking at some of the current prices, it’s very tempting!!

Are you booked on Iona yet? What are you most excited to see on the ship?
