Breaking news…Entertainment on Harmony of the Seas

I am a huge Royal Caribbean fan, but have not yet managed to sail on the Oasis class sips. As I am lucky enough to be going on one of the first sailings on Royal Caribbean’s brand new ship Harmony of the Seas I was very excited to see the new press release giving more details of some of the entertainment that will be available on board. Unfortunately my cruise is only a short one, so there won’t be enough time to experience everything as there is so much in the pipeline. So what can we expect…..?

royal theatre

HEADLINE SHOW: Grease is the word! Yes a version of Grease specially adapted by the RCI production will be the main production in The Royal Theatre and is sure to be a crowd pleaser. The film & musical have stood the test of time and is set to be a big attraction on board.

Another musical production is ‘Columbus – The Musical’ which is created in the spirit of ‘Spamalot’ and is a fictional story about Marvin Columbus and his voyage of discovery which will involve a lot of laughs as well as original songs.

aqua theatre

AQUA THEATRE: This stunning outdoor setting at the back of the ship has been wowing guests on Oasis & Allure of the Seas for the past few years with high diving & aerobatic shows. For the Harmony  ‘Hideaway Heist’ is a new comedy dive show. This action packed comedy aqua show jumps into the world of an upmarket 1950’s holiday resort (Think Dirty Dancing) where the performers take the audience on a journey in, on and around the pool as an undercover detective, playing the part of a high-rolling holidaymaker & pursues a crafty burglar. Guests can expect plenty of family-friendly fun and awe-inspiring performance tricks as the staff solve the crime of a century.

ICE SHOWS: The ice shows are always really popular and you have to be organised to ensure you get a reservation for these. World-class ice skaters mix with state of the art technology to bring a theatrical extravaganza. ‘1887’ is an original Royal Caribbean production and is based on Jules Verne and his travels both around the world and also through time.

ROYAL PROMENADE: Anyone who has attended a street party or show on the Royal promenade knows what a great fun atmosphere the RCI entertainment team make it. There has been a very popular ’70’s promenade party on most ships and this is being brought right up to date on Harmony with ‘Totally Awesome ’90’s’.

As well as the big productions above there is ‘Puzzle break – Escape The Rubicon’. This is a puzzle that transports players to another world and another time where they must escape! Players will collaborate with friends, old and new, as they attempt to find the hidden clues needed to solve a collection of puzzles that will eventually unravel the mystery of the Rubicon. With only 60 minutes to complete the task the suspense builds with every tick of the clock.  For the first time, this  will take place in a dedicated space designed in partnership with ShowFX Inc., a design company used in Hollywood studios.

stowaway

There is also the  very quirky ‘Stowaway Piano’ – the pop-up piano player, which originally debuted on the Anthem of the Seas. Behind the door. Around the corner. In the elevator. By the pool. Guests never know where the Stowaway Piano will turn up next!

These are just some of the entertainments that RCI are bringing to the highly anticipated Harmony of the Seas and I can not wait to sail on her and try as much as I can during my short trip.

What do you think of the offerings? Have you been on the Oasis or Allure before? What did you think of the entertainment.

I’d love to know so please leave a comment.
