Edinburgh Fringe Festival

I feel myself lucky to live in such a great city. August is a busy month in Edinburgh we have lots of cruise ships coming in some with overnight stops to give passengers the opportunity to see the famous Edinburgh Tattoo. This is a great show but you really need to make sure you book your tickets early as it is often a sell out nightly. Only problem for me is the daily fireworks that go off around 10.30pm every evening from the castle, only because I can see and hear them from my window!!

Its not just the tattoo to visit though we also have the Edinburgh Fringe, famous for the hundreds of comedy shows but, its not just comedy. There are street acts, kids shows, family shows, Dance and Music shows anything you can think of really!!

Yesterday we had some lovely weather so I decided to take Charlie into Edinburgh and see what we could find. We are really lucky and live close to the centre so just jumped on the bus as it only takes 20 minutes.

Look at some of the great thing we saw!!

This is one of the Dinosaur Puppets from the show Dinosaur Zoo, great for kids Charlie loved this show. The dinosaurs were so lifelike.

The shows and entertainment can be found right across the city along with pop up shops offering food & drink I even got to try a Teadough – the British take on the famous New York Cronut!! It was really tasty but I will be comparing it when I head to New York on Friday!!

My one last bit of advice for anyone wanting to visit the festival…… Make sure you head to the Virgin Money Half Price hut on Princes Street the tickets for the shows on the day are sold half price!! Its a great way to squeeze in a few shows.
