Black Watch plagued by a black curse?!!

The latest story to come out states the Fred Olsen cruise ship Black Watch has been grounded near the tip of South America after suffering mechanical problems.

The cruise which set sail from Southampton on 14 January has already suffered bad news with Fred Olsen confirming a passenger died after falling overboard 70 miles off the coast of Brazil on January 30th. It is claimed the passenger fell overboard as the ship left Rio de Janeiro in rough seas.

Like I say though there have been no end of problems when on a previous Northern Europe cruise 130 passengers suffered with a sickness bug.

I know these are not things that in many cases are the fault of the cruise line but it may well put me off from cruising with them. What do you think?

Maybe its time to spend a bit of money Fred Olsen? Get a new ship? The Black Watch first came into service in 1972 as the Royal Viking Star. That makes Black Watch a fair bit older than me!! This year she will be 42 years old!
