New Ships On Order.

With the successful launch of Royal Caribbean’s largest ship in the world, Symphony of the Seas last month I thought I would do a bit of research into what other ships we have to look forward to over the next few years, with pretty much all of the cruise lines investing heavily in their fleets.

I’m pretty certain one of the most eagerly anticipated ships readying to take to the waves is the Celebrity ‘EDGE’ which is set to join us from December this year. It will feature the very innovative Magic Carpet, a movable deck on the side of the ship moving from decks 2 right up to deck 16. I can’t wait to see that in action!

Not content with just launching the Symphony, Royal Caribbean have ANOTHER launch on the horizon with the Spectrum of the Seas, which is going to be another Quantum Class vessel (167,000 tonnes approx) that will be homed in the ever-growing Asia market when she is completed in 2019.

MSC have got plenty to look forward to also with the launches of both the MSC Bellissima and the MSC Grandiosa both happening in 2019, Bellissima in March and Grandiosa in October. Both ships will fall into the large resort type ships and carry over 4500 passengers!

Saga has invested in a brand new ship that will be with us in the Summer of 2019 called the Spirit of Discovery and will be adults only and carry less than 1000 passengers. Ideal for those that are missing Adonia!

We also have launches in 2019 for the Norwegian Encore which will be Norwegian Cruise Lines fourth Breakaway Class ship, the Costa Smerelda, a 180,000 tonne 5000 passenger mega-ship, the Sky Princess, a fourth Royal Class ship to join sisters, Royal, Regal and Majestic and finally the Carnival Panorama.

2020 and beyond will see big launches for new to the cruise market, Virgin and 2 big launches for P&O.

So much to look forward to!!
