hellooooo from Iceland

Good morning and a big Halló from Reykjavik Iceland. Today my blog comes from this incredible country I have brought my girlfriend here as a birthday surprise and what an incredible place it is.

 Iceland, a Nordic island nation, is defined by its dramatic landscape with volcanoes, geysers, hot springs and lava fields. Massive glaciers are protected in Vatnajökull and Snæfellsjökull national parks. Most of the population lives in the capital, Reykjavik, which runs on geothermal power and is home to the National and Saga museums, tracing Iceland’s Viking history.

And we are here for 3 nights and fingers crossed we are hoping to fulfil a huge bucket list by seeing the phenomenon that is the “Northern Lights” if you haven’t heard of them they are:

An Aurora, sometimes referred to as polar lights, northern lights or southern lights is a natural light display in the Earth’s sky, predominantly seen in the high-latitude regions.

We have a night tour included to take us out and hopefully get to see them in all of there splendour. We have also booked some incredible trips that include a whale watching boat trip that takes us out for 3 hours and to see them in there natural habitat we are hoping to maybe see some orcas or blue whales with there legendary huge tails. And snowmobiling over the glaciers so this is definitely going to be one of those trips of a lifetime we are staying in the Radisson Blu 1919 hotel right by the harbour so that we can watch the beautiful fishing boats and my partners happy because shes found a bar showing the big Sheffield football derby. WAWAW.

If you have ever fancied a trip to Iceland then definitely do it the air is so crisp and fresh here and the surrounding countryside is incredible I would recommend it to anyone.
