The little touches….

I have a regular client who has booked numerous cruises with me over the last few years.  A lot are mini cruises for 2/3/4 nights but usually a group of them go as couples or just the ladies.  I love dealing with these passengers as I do all my clients and love to go the extra mile where possible.

My lady booked 10 cabins to travel on Cunard’s Queen Victoria for 3 nights for May 2018 for a group of ladies, I knew it was her birthday whilst she was on board which is the reason for the cruise they all went on.

She usually sorts out all the cabins, has all the paperwork and sorts the tickets out for all the group for all bookings she has done with me but one of her friends called me to ask what they can do to make it special on board.  So I went through all the options with her and gave her the website to see what they can do and also gave her the telephone number for Cunard if needed to discuss in detail and arrange a few surprises.

As they have booked so many with me I decided I would sort out a large birthday cake for the party as a gift from me, I advised the friend I would do this so as not to double up and get two.  She was very thankful with this offer.

So that is exactly what I did.  I added a large 10 inch chocolate cake to the booking to be delivered to the restaurant on the day of her birthday so they had it after dinner.

My lady was extremely pleased with the cake when it arrived as knew it was from me….. they lovely email she sent me on their return made me smile, here is what she wrote…

Hi Barbara,

Together with my 19  friends, we had a fabulous, memorable and enjoyable cruise to celebrate my  60th birthday on Cunard’s Queen Victoria cruise liner.

It was very thoughtful and sweet of you to organise the lovely tasty chocolate birthday cake,  which was unexpected and a pleasant surprise.

Thanks for you all your support, help and generosity,   I could not have organised this cruise without your help and support.

Once again thank you.

She even sent me a couple of photos to show the cake and the ladies all dressed up.  They all look beautiful and it was the least I could do as I know they will always book with me in the future now, in fact they have just booked again for July!

We have spoken since she returned and was overwhelmed with the cake and her birthday on board and said it was very special and the best one she ever had.

Did you know, you can organise all sorts of celebration packages with the cruise lines before departure, whether it be a birthday, anniversary, honeymoon etc….
