Day 5 of my Holiday!! Ocho Rios, Jamaica!!

WOW WOW WOW…..I loved our time in Ocho Rios!! It was a fun day from start to finish.

Fun at the falls

We started our day by walking off the ship ourselves and heading for the shops. We first went to the shops that were in the shopping guide we received in the shopping seminar. We got a few freebies…and everyone loves a freebie!! Then we had a little look around as my friend wanted to buy a suitcase and I wanted to see if anything caught my eye. We managed to do quite a bit of shopping including a really nice jumpsuit for myself and a Michael Kors suitcase for my friend. We, of course, did not want to take all of our shopping to the falls so one of the shopkeepers held it for us for the day and just before we got back on the ship we collected everything.

Next, the lady from the shop hailed a taxi for us and we headed to the Dunn’s River Falls. By doing this trip independently we saved around $20-$30pp and it was really easy to get to. On arrival, once you have your tickets, you need to ensure you are wearing swimming gear and water shoes then you are ready to go. If you want to take a camera or your phone, make sure you have a waterproof case and that it is stable as I nearly lost my phone as it slipped out the holder. Fortunately, as I was panicking 2 staff members helped me search in the water and we found it. I literally could not believe how lucky I was.

Whilst you’re climbing the falls do not be afraid to hold a strangers hand lol without this there could have been many falls. My friend was unable to climb the falls due to her mobility so I did it by myself, so I was thankful that I made friends with some other passengers from the ship.

The fun day continued when we got back on board. It was time for one of my favourite events onboard a cruise…..Silent Disco time!! It was held right next to the South beach pool on the aft of the ship. You have 3 styles of music to choose from, I mostly chose blue as it was party tunes. It was an incredible night.
