Off to see Ms Koningsdam

This weekend I will be off on a flying visit to Amsterdam to see the newest ship in the Holland America Fleet , MS Koningsdam. As I have never had the chance to see or experience one of their ships I am really looking forward to seeing what they have to offer. Along with 2 of my colleagues we will also get a chance to see a bit of Amsterdam on Saturday before we have a tour of the ship on Sunday. On Saturday once we arrive we are being taken on a walking tour of Amsterdam and then to the Haesje Claes restaurant for Lunch. After this we will have some free time so I am hoping we can get a bit more sightseeing done. In the evening we will be doing a Canal Boat trip with evening dinner which will be lovely to see Amsterdam from the waterways.

On Sunday we will be taken to the ship for the tour before returning home on Sunday Evening. Koningsdam which launched in April this year is the first of a new class of ship for Holland America and they have new partnerships which will enhance the on-board experience. They are working with AFAR with online destination guides, which will give guests in depth knowledge of over 400 destinations and which will personally recommend things to do and place to eat to give an authentic experience of the destinations.

The ship also offers a Culinary Arts Centre that offers a “Farm to table Dining experience and also BLEND which is the only purpose-built wine blending venue at Sea. These are just a couple of things that this new ship has to offer and I am hoping that we will have enough time to see all these places on board and be able to write all about the experience next time. Watch this space!
