Early Bird catches the Worm!

When the right time to book a cruise is always a big talking point amongst people and I think everyone views this differently. If you are a couple who can go at a drop of hat then there is always some last minute deals to be had if you are not fussy about where you go and what cabin type you like. Unfortunately this isn’t the case when you are travelling with a family as multiple berth cabins are not always available at the last minute. Many people book a year to 18 months in advance but how would you feel about booking 2 years in advance?

This year P&O and Cunard have decided to launch their Spring-Summer sailings this month and sailings from March 2018-September 2018 will be on sale from 15^th September for the customers in the Caribbean, Baltic and Ligurian Tiers of the Peninsular Club. These passengers will be able to book from 15^th September until 18^th September and then they will be on sale to the general public from 19^th September for sailings from March 2018 to June 2018 and then the sailings from July 2018 to October 2018 will be on sale on 21^st September. In between these dates on 20th September Cunard will be available to book for World Club members and then on General Sale 21^st September.

This is a great time to book as they have lowered the deposit to 5% for all bookings made before 30^th November 2016 which means you are not paying out a large amount at time of booking.  P&O and Cunard have always offered a discount for past passengers and they have introduced a 5% discount to new passengers also which is a great incentive for first time cruisers.

Other news from P&O is that they will be adding another ship to the fleet in 2020. This will be the biggest ship built for the UK market at 180,000 tons and carrying 5200 passengers. It will be interesting to see whether they can fill such a large ship and how far in advance will they put that on sale to try and fill it?
