Retirement of the seas – a new ship idea !!

As we grow older and grey hairs start to sprout, you start to shuffle rather then walk then you know that retirement is on the horizon and the days of working hard are over. Many people dream of a relaxing retirement maybe tending to the garden, painting, looking after the grandkids and trips to the seaside etc.

But what if money was no object and you could spend the rest of your golden years cruising around the world. Well that’s one American lady has been doing for the last decade.

When Mamma Lee aged 86 lost her husband she decided that she was going to cruise until she couldn’t cruise anymore and sold up her five bedroomed home and swapped it for the cosy comfort of a cabin on board Holland and America.

Three years later she then up sticked and moved onto the Crystal Serenity which is a luxury liner and held as one of the top ranked ships in the world. She has been on board for seven years now and I have to say I think she is a genius and when you think about it she has none of the day to day worries to think about.

No gas and electric bills, no tedious trips to Tesco’s to stock up the cupboards.

She doesn’t have to do the washing up or clean the house from top to bottom and she definitely doesn’t have to cook any gourmet meals or do any repairs on her boiler.

She just has to sit back and cruise around the world with six star service a mere fingertip away. But are the big cruise lines out there missing a trick. We have so many ships getting bigger and better with bumper cars, zip lines and sky diving but have they ever thought about a ship built purely for the retired folk of the world.

Retirement Of The seas could be a ship built purposely for those looking for something a bit more luxurious then a retirement flat by the sea. You could buy your own cabin on board or even cabin share for 6 months of the year with friends and travel with other likeminded cruisers.

You could have bowls on top deck, afternoon tea with a bingo caller and then an evening of cards or dominos before returning to your very own retirement cabin. If you love cruise and you would be happy to never set foot on land again then this could be the cruise for you.

Start putting your pennies into your pension so you can sail off into the sunset.
