What are the best cruise ship features at sea?

I’ve recently been on a cruise on Independence of the Seas and was wowed by all the new ship features on board.

I tried out the laser tag and the virtual reality bungee trampoline but that’s not forgetting the rock climbing wall, the flowrider surf simulator, the onboard escape room and new water slides.

So to some (me included sometimes) these things seem like gimmicks, marketing ploys to purely catch peoples attention, which they are from the cruise line points of view However these features are also amazing for children and the young at heart like me which I found with laser tag. So what are the best of these throughout the cruise world?

Carnival Skyride – This is a hanging bike suspended 150feet in the air, you can either pedal fast and race next to the person beside you or use it more as a leisurely tour to go around high above the ship.

Ultimate Abyss slide Royal Caribbean – the tallest slide at sea, its all in the name and “Abyss” sounds pretty intimidating, you plummet from 10 stories down to the bottom, I would imagine screaming all the way!

F1 simulator MSC – on various ships but this definitely offers something a bit different only thing is that this is something that is chargeable unlike with other cruise line features….

But ACTUALLY NCL have gone one better than this and have actual racetracks on their ships and their new ships will have Ferrari branded ones too! Ferrari racetrack at sea

Ripcord by Ifly, Royal Caribbean, I wasnt hugely impressed by the Skypad experience on In dependence I must say but Anthem and Quantum of the Seas go one better and have a skydive simulator Ripcord by Ifly which sounds a lot more expansive and impressive!! https://youtu.be/kzT1YqKAx5s

Thats just a few of the amazing features cruise lines are putting onboard to make sea days less and less boring for everyone!
