I can find many excuses… to cruise…

I was just sat here in my office thinking what is this Black Friday all about?

For us travel consultants it means there are more people calling in wanting a cruise for £1. But they want to go for Christmas this year!

For the cruise companies they can reduce the price slightly and hopefully fill the ships up with bargain hunters.

For the customers who are bright enough to book when the price is right, it means you have more money to spend while you are on holiday. Plus getting it booked in advance means you get the best choice of cabins too. But don’t wait long as these offers are always limited to only a few cabins of each category.

I know this week there will be some great cruise deals to be had and it is a great time to plan and book something to look forward to in 2018. More importantly though it should be about getting on the right ship for you and going to places you really want to visit. When I am talking to customers and I ask what they are looking to spend on the cruise? It surprises me how most of my customers remember the one time they got on a ship for a month and only paid £1000 for two of them in a balcony cabin. But they forget to tell me it was in 1984 and the cost of a family home was only £30,000 back then.

Take the time to find out if the ship has ports of call on your bucket list. I could visit places, across the globe, I have already been to before and do something new there every time I go back. I love travelling because of the chance to see new destinations and experience different cultures and amazing friendly people. There is also the food and drink that the locals enjoy. I always hope to try something new wherever I go, even if the smell or appearances of the food are revolting. I have had a few surprises and liked the cooked insects. But also had street food that really blew my mind in Thailand.
