Abbi's ABC Of Cruising

Remember the “Love Boat”? …Princess take us back.

Did you ever sit and watch the TV series the “Love Boat”…I know I did….one of my favourite shows although don’t tell anyone! I didn’t realise the series ran for an impressive 10 years beginning way back in 1977.. Well for all those Love Boat fans,  Princess cruises are going to host an amazing re-union of the original cast and favourite guests from the show!

The star studded naming ceremony of the Regal Princess will take place is Fort Lauderdale on the 5 th November and looks to be a spectacular event. This will mark the start of Princess’s Golden anniversary celebrations.

Naming ceremonies are always the most exciting and special events, you play a part in history and to be part of such celebrations I imagine is a magical experience…I’m waiting for my invitation…I can always dream.

Tori Spelling who is daughter of the Love Boat producer Aaron Spelling, has been chosen to serve as  the official Master of Ceremonies for the Regal Princess christening ceremony. The six original cast members will be the ships god parents.

The Love Boat was filmed on board different ships from the fleet including the Pacific Princess and Island Princess, so what better way to celebrate a new ship and of course begin the Golden anniversary celebrations.

The Regal Princess entered service in May this year and is an amazing addition to the fleet. With 3560 guests on board she has been a popular choice for the Mediterranean this summer. She is soon to begin sailing from Fort Lauderdale around the Caribbean offering amazing sun soaked itineraries.

One of my favourite features is the Sea Walk….this is where you can walk along a glass bottomed walk way 28 feet above sea level! I would love to try this, I can only imagine how amazing if not terrifying this would be…especially for me who is not a fan of heights and especially heights above water!

On board the ship will be Chef’s Table Lumiere..this will be an extra special dining experience where guests are surrounded by a curtain of light whilst enjoying the most delicious menu. Perfect for a special occasion on board. I love experiencing all the different dining choices on board, one of the best parts of cruising.

On board is the dazzling Dramatic Atrium…here is where guests gather to enjoy Bellini’s Italian cocktail bar, the Ocean Terrace seafood bar, and the Gelateria. You can treat yourself  in the boutique shops and then maybe sample a cocktail or two. There will be entertainment to enjoy and I’m sure this is one of the places to be on board to soak up that Regal atmosphere.

If you are looking for heavenly relaxation try the Private Cabanas …enjoy them in The Sanctuary or choose a poolside cabana at the Retreat Pool. You can sit back and enjoy a new cabana picnic basket and not to forget the premium wines.

On board will be the Horizon Bistro Pastry Shop…how do freshly baked cakes and pastries sound? Delicious! You will also be able to watch the cake decorating demonstrations from the Pastry chefs on board.

So what do you think…is Regal Princess your kind of ship ?  Can see yourself sailing on board this beautiful ship?… then get in touch and you can find out more.

Exciting time ahead for Princess and I am looking forward to seeing all the amazing photos and reading all about the celebrations in Fort Lauderdale.
