Ovation of the Seas hits Southampton

Last week saw the arrival of Royal Caribbean’s latest addition to their ever expanding fleet….Ovation of the Seas! The third quantum class ship…Ovation really is impressive to say the least. I have to say last week I felt some little pangs of jealousy as my colleagues headed down to Southampton to spend the night on board and experience all she has to offer first hand. They all came back wowed by the ship and really excited with lots of fantastic photos!

So what does Ovation of the Seas have to offer you may wonder…… here are some of her highlights.

The Royal Esplande, luxurious shops and bars fill this area and as you can see it’s a really beautiful part of the ship. It’s a more up market take on the usual Royal Promenades featured on other ships.

The North Star is another popular attraction on board, it’s a viewing pod which is suspended way above the ship, 300 metres above sea level to be precise, to give you the most amazing views. My sister actually tried this last week despite her dislike of heights…she absolutely loved it and her photos were fantastic…that’s my sister below! Highly recommended.

The Bionic bar is featured on board Ovation……yes a bar where you are served by robots! Sounds amazing….you order your drinks on the ipad and the robot arms then mix your cocktails….fantastic concept and a great experience whilst on board.

SeaPlex looks to be a fantastic area for all passengers no matter how young or old….it’s the largest indoor sports complex you will find on board any ship and  you can try the bumper cars or maybe roller skating if you are feeling energetic , there is even a circus school with flying trapeze classes.

The H2O area will be a hit with the children,  a waterpark for them to enjoy on board Ovation will keep them enterained.

Dining on board is on another level…with 18 restaurants on board! So much choice and such a high standard , there is Jamie’s Italian, Wonderland- which is the one I personally want to try, Silk, the list goes on!

Ovation will be heading to China where she will be set to impress the Chinese market just as she has us here in the UK. Did you know that as Ovation was built with the Chinese market in mind she features more exclusive shops like as Cartier , Michael Kors, Tag Heur, her casino is larger than her sister ships and there will be more Chinese food dining choices! All the signs around the ship are in  both English and Chinese!

Are you sailing on board Ovation of the Seas ? What do you think, is she the sort of ship you would love to try?

As always thanks for reading, Abbi x
