Harmony of the Seas to steal the show this week….

This week will be a huge week for Royal Caribbean…with yet another amazing ship to join their rapidly expanding fleet of cruise ships. Harmony of the Seas will welcome her first passengers later this week…..some of my very lucky colleagues will be heading to Southampton and I have to admit I am very jealous.

Harmony set sail from her French ship yard yesterday with thousands watching and will sail into Southampton tomorrow. There will be thousands of people waiting for her to make a long awaited appearance and I for one am so excited!

I’m not one for fact and figures but reading about Harmony of the Seas they really do blow your mind!! …..she’ll carry over 6000 passengers and 2000 crew members!!!! There will be 2747 staterooms on board!!  227, 000 tonnes &  1187 ft long…to give you a visual idea of this she will be over 165 ft longer than the Eiffel Tower!!

Usually on board cruise ship there are 3 or 4 swimming pools….Harmony will have 23 pools to choose from!! Including Splashaway Bay a brilliant childrens waterpark area.

There will be 20 yes 20 dining venues on board….spoilt for choice won’t be the word!! My favourite restaurant is Wonderland, it’s a restaurant which will take you on a dining experience you have never had before…15 courses of weirdly wonderful food!

There will be the well known Central park neighbourhood,..with 10, 500 plants and 52 trees and real grass!! Central Park is just one of the 7 neighbourhoods on board this amazing new ship.

One of the highlights I’m sure is going to be the Ultimate Abyss , the tallest slide at sea… I don’t think I would be brave enough to try this…it looks terrifying….you will plunge ten decks and experience a 100ft drop! There will also be the Perfect Strom….3 water slides offering another fantastic experience for those brave enough!

Harmony will also have the zip lines, rock climbing, robotic bar tenders, the fastest internet at sea, a 1400 seat theatre!!!

It seems Harmony of the Seas has it all to offer and much more and I’m sure by the end of the week we’ll be seeing some amazing photos and hearing some fantastic reviews!! It’s going to be a fantastic week in the cruise world and I promise you lots of photos to follow.
