Abbi's ABC Of Cruising

Dust down your dancing shoes ready for Strictly competitions at sea!

As a huge fan I was sat watching Strictly on Saturday night and I have to say this year is even better than before. I am completely hooked on the show, I love everything from Craig and the judges to the sequins and glitter, the spray tans and the licra outfits and of course the Celebrity dancers. I find my self captivated by the show, secretly wishing I could have a go myself…even though I am definately not a dancer!

P&O cruises cleverly introduced Strictly Come Dancing themed cruises which have been very popular,  they have recently take this one step further adding an a brand new idea of Strictly competitions for guests on all cruises with 3 or more sea days. The Strictly competitions have begun already on the Oceana and Aurora and for other ships it will be later this year.

To give a real Strictly atmosphere there will be an exclusive recorded message from head judge Len Goodman as well as footage of fellow judge Bruno Tonioli.

At the start of your cruise you can choose your own dance style and you will choreograph your very own routine! Not only can couples enter but if you are on your own and you see yourself as a Strictly star then you will be paired up with a member of the P&O team. I’m sure this is going to be so much fun for those dancing and of course for those watching the performances and I’m sure competition will hot up as passengers competitive streaks come out.

For the competition you will provide your own costumes…think licra, sequins, glitter and you can’t go far wrong. Dancers will then be able to go back stage for their hair and makeup…so if nothing else you will certainly look the part. What kind of costume would you choose?

So who will be judging the competitions, the panel of judges for the competitions will be an exciting mix from the entertainment team, the officers and fellow guests on board.

I would love to say if I was to take part with my other half then we would steal the show and win the competition…..wishful thinking on my part I think but I would love to have a go. I see myself doing a fairy tale Waltz or maybe a cheeky Charleston.

I think it’s a great idea and nice to have a different entertainment choice for your cruise. I know I would want front row seats!

Strictly at Sea….I’m so excited about it and can’t wait to hear from my customers about their dancing competitions on board.

So will you be planning to enter the Strictly competition on your P&O cruise, do you dream of lifting the Glitterball trophy on your cruise?

I would love to hear your views as always.
