I know that tips are included with Thomson cruises however, is it in order to tip a member of staff who does an exceptional job? without upsetting the norm ?.

£2 per adult per night for waiter and same for stewardess. We took children and were told that was at our discretion so we gave one adult equivilent for them but that was out choice. We also chose to give one other staff member a gratuity but it was completely unexpected I could tell from the reaction. On the last few days envelopes are available from reception on the top and easy to collect. We gave them to the waiter and stewardess on the final night. We had really good service .

Yes, £2 per person is the recommended sum. It is worth looking at the Fred. Olsen brocure and their website (A -Z on cruising site)for all sorts of good advice on your cruise.Have a great cruise.

Most cruise lines have filled all of their 3 and 4 berth cabins and those that have space will charge you astronomical prices. So what do you do if you are looking to cruise in the school holidays? The answer is book early! Book now for 2018, if you leave it to nearer the time not only will the prices climb but you are unlikely to ge...

Thomson Cruises have made some changes in recent years and things are really working for them, in the last 5 years they have seen an increase in passenger numbers of 40%, with 20% being in the last year alone. They have always been looked down upon by a lot of customers, although unjustly so as their reviews have always been good. But with older ships and less of the pomp and ceremony of other lines they have been viewed as being at the lower end of the market. In 2016, they made a major ...
