Yes there are Internet facilities on board which are charged at a rate of 25pence per minute. There is also a wireless system operating thereby allowing a laptop with wireless facilities to be used. Unfortunately I cannot recall if this was free or a charge was made. I suggest you contact Royal Caribbean direct & request this information. You will need to identify the ship you will be travelling on as I am led to beleive that last year all internet access on the Freedom of the Seas was completely free. There is a possibility that this is still the case. However, it is more likely that charges have been introduced on all Royal Caribbean Cruise Ships. Enjoy your holiday be aware that everything that is offered as free will have a sting in its tail. Don't buy any art unless you want it as a personal item, as the gallery valuation is for insurance purposes & do not reflect anything like its market value, e.g. a $95 (£50)piece of art can be purchased on ebay for about $10 (£5). BEWARE.

If I were you I would leave the lap top at home - it is too expensive. Anyway, she will be too busy to send loads of e mails !!!!!!!!

Some people have serious reasons why they have to keep in contact with their home addresses.

Then all you need to do is pay as you go on the ships internet facility! We take our laptop. We download all the mails then open them offline. Reply to them and go on the internet to send the responses in one go. However, it is not so long ago that you simply could not use the internet on board. One had to rely upon phones on shore or expensive ship to shore phone calls. My husband is wedded to his lap top - me, I prefer to go away and be away. Anything urgent will always get through on the mobile, ship to shore or Fax.

You didn't really think that you could take something with you that would allow you to get something for nothing on a cruise ship did you? They don't spend all that money on installing internet facilities onboard ship so that you can use them for free! They are a way of earning more revenue. Happy cruising.

Hawaii FIVE O!!!!!

By Drew Lazarus

Drew Lazarus's blog

Hey! Back again with some more world cruise ports and pics! I think the shot above (the whale breaching the ocean) says it all. So whilst on tender duty in Lahaina , assisting passengers get ashore, I was fortunate enough to witness this through a tender boat window. I still look at the picture and think WOW!!! This was of course the high light of the day for me. There were a number of many different varieties of whales that were not shy and for want of a better word were parading around the...
