Legend has not been refurbed to my knowledge, but I will let you know it's condition as I'm on it in May. Legend is not aimed at the 'family' market as per Independence so you may find a more mature approach to the dress code on formal nights. Formal Nights on the Med cruises I have done in the past few years have, in the main, been well supported......Wilba.

Formal nights on the Splendour of the Seas in the Med are also well supported.

Hi. My family and myself have just finished a 27 night cruise on Legend of the Seas last Dec08. The ship was refurbished in 2002 I think but nevertheless the ship is still looking very spic and span, some of the carpet is a little worn perhaps and some of the seating in some areas was in need of a little revamping but other than that we found everything to be ship shape and sparkling. We had 3 formal nights and several smart casuals and it seemed just about everybody made the effort and dressed up including my own family much to my delight. The staff was fantastic. the tours were fabulous the food 7out of 10 I thought. I hope this is helpful to you and I wish you a safe and delightful cruise.

Norwegian Joy which will enter service in Summer 2017 will be based in Shanghai and Tianjin. I have recently returned from a cruise on Norwegian Epic around the Mediterranean and there were a lot of Chinese staff on board who were training and getting ready for the new ship.Norwegian Joy is being styled exclusively for the Ch...

Luxury cruising on the River Rhine

By Kerry James

Kerry James's blog

As you may have read in my last blog, I was very fortunate to have been given the opportunity to sample 3 nights on the SS Antoinette, which belongs to Uniworld. All I knew was that the ships were luxurious and this was the top river cruise line to sail on, so expectations were high and I was not disappointed.Upon arrival in Amsterdam, I was met by my own chauffeur – which is when I knew then the trip was going to a be a fabulous few days. The car I was driven in was almost like a limou...

Well, as winter quickly sets in… It can only mean one thing- It’s holiday time!Something that I always make sure of every year is that I get away during the winter season at least once. I think it is so important to get some Vitamin D and wake up to the sunshine when our days at home are so short, dark and damp. This November, I have two weeks off work and I have 2 holidays to look forward to. Starting with The Gambia and finishing with a rural retreat in Mid Wales!Everybody keeps...
