Only extras are for speciality restaurants, drinks (alcoholic and soft, specialiality ice creams etc) but you can survive without any of those. Everything else, rock climbing, zip line, ice skating. jacuzzies etc. are free plus much/many more. All the RC ships are fantastic and you will have a great time. We booked on the Oasis as soon as the bookings opened. Can't wait to go on it. We are off on the Vision in two weeks time and looking forward to that. The Independence is fantastic as well.

Not built yet so who knows, but based on current RCI pricing - rock climbing, steam room and sauna are all free. And you don't have to go to the speciality restaurants if you don't want to.

Usually the rock climbing ,zip line/flow rider /ice rink etc will be free ,unless you take private lessons. most extra costs are for things like the massages /hairdressing ,but having sailed with rci several times i can say that the majority of things to do are included in the cost , the trips on land are quite expensive and can often be arranged seperately for a lot less .there is no extra charge for room service and food can be ordered at any time to your cabin ,you just tip the bell boy who delivers it a couple of dollars , great if you have hungry teenagers who have been to the night clubs etc or if you want a cup of tea last thing at night .the ship is huge ,we went on liberty of the seas this yr and that was big and great fun .cant wait to save up for oasis.have a great time and maybe view the ship and all its details onthe royalcaribbean web site

The wall cllimbing and flowrider do not charge for using them. Other charges do apply for Jony Rockets burger resturant and the Chps and Portofino charge extra for using thme. Dont kknow about the zip line as this is new. I would read your brochure carefully or go on line for RCL and you will get all the info. Have a great time it looks as it is going to be a great ship .

Drinks are similar prices to london pubs. No need to pay the extra to dine anywhere other than the main restaurant or buffet as the food on rci cruises is fantastic and 24 hours. Only extra charges are for the beauty/hair/spa treatments if you want them. All activities are free. Make the most of the places you visit and spend any extra cash you have on enjoying some of the wonderful excursions they have on offer. How lucky are you to be going on this exciting new ship. We sailed on the maiden voyage of the Independence and it was fantastic. Enjoy!

After an amazing trip to Lapland and a fantastic Christmas with the family our festivities were cut short as I was taken into hospital just after Christmas. Unfortunately I had to spend nine days there and have emergency operation on New Years day! As you can imagine this was not how I planned to see in the new year but as we all know these things happen and I am very grateful to have been very well looked after and now recovered.I was very well looked after by our amazing NHS, I know they ge...

What No Kisses On My Pillow?!!

By Lily Canderton

Lily Canderton's blog

10 years ago a tradition of the nightly turn down service on ships was a Chocolate Kiss on your pillow but this now seems to be a thing of the past according to a recently returned cruise passengerI hear all the time from passengers that ‘standards are not what they used to be’ with less and less being included and more and more being an added payable extra – Are cruise lines cutting corners just too much?Even the Berlitz Guide author commented that standards are slipping in...
