Only extras are for speciality restaurants, drinks (alcoholic and soft, specialiality ice creams etc) but you can survive without any of those. Everything else, rock climbing, zip line, ice skating. jacuzzies etc. are free plus much/many more. All the RC ships are fantastic and you will have a great time. We booked on the Oasis as soon as the bookings opened. Can't wait to go on it. We are off on the Vision in two weeks time and looking forward to that. The Independence is fantastic as well.

Not built yet so who knows, but based on current RCI pricing - rock climbing, steam room and sauna are all free. And you don't have to go to the speciality restaurants if you don't want to.

Usually the rock climbing ,zip line/flow rider /ice rink etc will be free ,unless you take private lessons. most extra costs are for things like the massages /hairdressing ,but having sailed with rci several times i can say that the majority of things to do are included in the cost , the trips on land are quite expensive and can often be arranged seperately for a lot less .there is no extra charge for room service and food can be ordered at any time to your cabin ,you just tip the bell boy who delivers it a couple of dollars , great if you have hungry teenagers who have been to the night clubs etc or if you want a cup of tea last thing at night .the ship is huge ,we went on liberty of the seas this yr and that was big and great fun .cant wait to save up for oasis.have a great time and maybe view the ship and all its details onthe royalcaribbean web site www.royalcaribbean.com.

The wall cllimbing and flowrider do not charge for using them. Other charges do apply for Jony Rockets burger resturant and the Chps and Portofino charge extra for using thme. Dont kknow about the zip line as this is new. I would read your brochure carefully or go on line for RCL and you will get all the info. Have a great time it looks as it is going to be a great ship .

Drinks are similar prices to london pubs. No need to pay the extra to dine anywhere other than the main restaurant or buffet as the food on rci cruises is fantastic and 24 hours. Only extra charges are for the beauty/hair/spa treatments if you want them. All activities are free. Make the most of the places you visit and spend any extra cash you have on enjoying some of the wonderful excursions they have on offer. How lucky are you to be going on this exciting new ship. We sailed on the maiden voyage of the Independence and it was fantastic. Enjoy!

How Far Is Too Far?

By Alison Ranaldi

In March last year, I booked my holiday for November this year. At the time, booking 20 months in advance seemed quite strange and hard to get excited about. On the plus side, the cost of my cruise increased by over 700 per person over the following months and it has given us lots of time to plan what we are doing and to budget the holiday by booking trips, hotels and flights at different times rather than in one go. Also, it is nice to have something to look forward to. I have had a few holi...

Cruise News

By Shirley McCue

Shirley McCue's blog

What has been happening over the last couple of weeks in the Cruise Industry ?There has been a lot of talk about the new Cruise ship Bliss belonging to Norwegian cruise line. I never thought there would be a day that a ship would have a race track on board . I am led to believe the track itself will be the longest at sea at nearly 1,000 feet, with four speed settings accommodating all drivers with the speed reaching up to 30 miles per hour including a special turbo boost available on each l...

Truth Behind Your Cruise Itinerary

By Emily Watts

Emily Watts's blog

Experienced cruisers will already know by looking at an itinerary how far the ports are from the main city and towns. However those that are new to cruising may be a bit miffed when booking a cruise that visits Paris or Rome they are in fact in some cases two hours away. With Paris being the capital of France you know the only water that surrounds it is the Seine. I think the most shocking one that appears is Berlin, people are thinking this will be lovely to visit but in reality it is just ...
