Vancouver is 8hrs behind UK time so you need a few days to get over your jetlag. Vancouver is a beautiful city and well worth spending a few days there anyway so don't travel on the same day.

You need time to get through immigration etc plus to get to the ship and if the flight was delayed. Do Thomas Cook not offer a stay over the night before you join the ship a lot less stressful, or can the travel agent who booked the cruise arrange one for you.

I agree. I would never book a flight on the day the cruise ship left. It would only take a delay of a few hours because of some technical problem and you could miss the ship. It's well worth flying in the day before, staying the night and not having to worry about whether your flight will be on time.

Your brave, most of us wouldn't trust an airline to be on time for a hop across the channel, never mind the Atlantic Ocean.

Whatever you decide I would NEVER recommend anybody fly with Zoom - not even my worst enemy. It's the worst flight I have ever been on. The staff were ignorant and rude, there was enough space between my knees and the seat infront to just slide an envelope between the gap and the food was awful. I have certainly learned that, no matter how cheap the holiday, it's worth paying that little bit extra for the flight. Bon Voyage!

We Love Manchester 10Kwe did it!!!

By Abbi Varela

….and what a fantastic day it was too, such a sense of achievement. As you probably guessed I took part last weekend in the We Love Manchester 10k run, along with my sister and friend. It was a really great day and the atmosphere was the best it has ever been.I can’t say the run was easy, in fact far from it! I was praying for cloud or even rain on the morning, running in the sun is so much harder. As we set off at 930 it was almost as if someone switched on the sun!! …it wa...

It is a known fact that regardless of the ship or the cruise line that you are sailing with – the cabins are how shall we say …’on the small side’ Lets face it unless you are in a suite (which the majority of people are probably not) then all cabins are restricted on space. But imagine if you know a few tricks to make that cabin space bigger or at least feel like it!Read on to find out which cruise essentials you should be taking with you, that won’t take up much...

Queen Mary 2 or Queen Victoria?I have worked on both and have been lucky enough, in my role on both these ships, to have the freedom to use the public areas. I love what Cunard are all about, the elegance, sophistication, and choice of entertainment on board.Although the modern world does exist on the ships with Wi-Fi as a service that you can benefit from, for an extra charge.
