They take your credit card number & bill everything on board to it to your seapass. You can pay the bill off in dollars which we partly did before the last day at the guest relations desk.

Take euros for getting off and tips but use your debit or credit card on the ship ,i wouldnt bother with the travellers cheques now adays .you can get a travellers cheque card from the post office that you can use like a credit card /debit card in most shops and resteraunts.

Hi. Last year I had planned to settle sea pass account by credit card. Half way through the cruise, my credit card company found my number had been fradulently used in England (nothing to do with the holiday), and stopped my card, So we had to use travllers cheque and euros. Not sure what would have happened if we didn't have the cheque and cash. I don't think you can use a debit card to settle your account.

He, You will find that all cruise ships are cash free and that you pay for your ship board account at the end of the cruise in which way you wish. All cruise ships ask you to provide a credit/debit card number either before travelling or boarding the ship on embarkation. This may worry some people in case they cannot keep a tag on what is being spent, however you can always go to the pursers desk and request a statement. You can also deposit a payment if you wish at times to suit yourself. Cash free cruising is ideal as you never have to worry about carrying money with you whilst on board. Depending on which cruise line you are using will depend on what currency the ship board account is to be paid with. All the American lines it is dollors and all the English Cruise lines it is Stirling. You will just need Euros to spend whilst on shore in the Canaries.

On the ship it is dollars and you will need Euro's for off shore spending. The ship will have a bank and if you take Euro or dollar travellers cheques then you can cash on board for more Euro's if you only take a limited amount in cash with you and that is always advised. You can also use your Euro cheques ashore to buy items in the shops but that can sometimes be a bit of a nuisance depending on the shop. We normally use a credit card depending on the price of the product weare buying and also to settle our on board account, otherwise you have to go to the bank on the morning of departure to seetle your account. Remember you are about to join a cashless society on a ship everything is charged to your stateroom account and with more and more ships you can access your account on the TV in your stateroom, you only need 'money' if you visit the casino. If you are on a 12/15 cruise you will sometimes despite this arrangement get a print-out of your spend in the first 7/8 days, not always and the final print-out when you wake up on the morning of departure from the ship.

The River Cruise Line saved as...

By Richard Smith

I was shocked at the end of last week when I started to hear reports that The River Cruise Line could cease trading.I have personally sailed with The River Cruise Line in the past and had a great experience doing so. I think that they offer very good value for money and offer a product that can cost a lot less to book than some of their more luxurious rivals.Unfortunately Diamond Shortbreak Holidays Ltd who were the parent company of The River Cruise Line announced that they had to go i...

Celebrity Edge is on its Way

By Robin Clarke

Robin Clarke's blog

So the brand new Celebrity Edge has now gone on sale for her maiden voyage on the 16th of December starting her Caribbean voyages where she will be based in Fort Lauderdale. This ship is like no other at sea with so many fantastic new amenities on-board such as the new infinite balconies which even I was blown away by this. The balcony itself is now within the cabin and has a separator if you wish to use it to separate the balcony from the cabin. You then have a switch that you can push that ...

Betsy Davies's blog

Well I have just returned from my first ever visit to a River cruise ship. What a way to start!!! I visited the AmaPrima and Ama are rated the highest standard of ships in Europe according to the Berlitz guide.I flew to Amsterdam and we got picked up by a brand new AMA coach and transferred the short distance to the centre of city to meet the ship, the first eye opener for me was exactly how near to the centre of the town the ship was. If I am being really honest I really didn’t know w...
