Its not easy by train with that amount of luggage as you would have to change through London. I was on Jewel of the Seas 2 years ago and there were dedicated coaches from Heathrow direct to the ship which is the best way to go. There maybe also some from Gatwick. Suggest you check with R.

Hello....Carrying that much luggage around is not going to be a brilliant start to your holiday. Check to see if there is a coach arranged for the trip as Harwich is really awkward to get to. If no, look up your particular cruise on the boards of another web site which has both cruise and critic in its name then ask if someone would like to share a taxi with you. Arrange one from Harwich Taxis, not at the airport, to meet you at whichever airport, and here I would suggest Gatwick, and be taken right to the ship in comfort. Cost is about £120. It is possible to hire a car one way but if you have never driven on the left before that could also be an inappropriate way to start a holiday.....Heathe.

On the other hand , if your partner is employed by one of the largest cruise travel agenci...

By Lee Johnson

Lee Johnson's blog

Over the last few years here at www.CRUISE.co.uk we have seen the cruise industry change massively. Gone are the days when a simple cruise will suffice, people are now wanting more from their cruise. We are seeing a steady rise in the requirements to do a land stay prior to the cruise (or after it in some cases). Not only that but people are wanting tours and particularly escorted tours that really give an essence of that region. Our most popular package of the last few years has undoubtedly been...

Is River Cruising Accessible?

By Hannah Wilson

Hannah Wilson's blog

Quite simply, River Cruising is my passion, my favourite type of cruise. i have been lucky enough to do five river cruises to date and the next one can’t come soon enough. Top of my river cruising bucket list has to be the Mekong, gliding through Vietnam and Cambodia – one day I hope! You would think that river cruising would be perfect for people with limited mobility, smaller ships with less passengers on, only three decks etc, but is river cruising really ideal for wheelchair an...
