Went on Legend of the seas last year from Southampton and watched a trolley full of cases tipped between the ship and loading area, fished out put back on trolley and delivered to passengers, heard lots of grumbles about wet clothes on the first night. It seems RCI are not very careful with peoples property. I am going on Navigator next week and wonder how safe my cases will be.

Gosh that must have been horrendous. Hope that it wasn't at the beginning of your cruise! If so, did you complain & what did RCI do about it? Did anyone else's luggage suffer the same fate? Apart from that experience glad that you had a wonderful cruise. Do you have any tips re. the cruise, what to pack, (sorry!) places visited etc. etc. as we are sailing on the NOTS on the 26th. to the Canaries. Many thanks.

Outrageous. We had a suitcase badly trashed by Celebrity. Ooops sorry, it wasn't Celebrity it was the baggage handlers too. The only good thing was that it was on boarding and so they couldn't fob us off as the problem was going to be around for 10 days - enough time for them to report to Head Office and get a reply (nobody onboard is empowered to make a decision it would appear). If this type of thing happens to anyone else make sure you report it at the time, take names, take photos, get a report number and follow it up doggedly. Keep receipts. Give the cruise co time to make good and then if it's still unsatisfactory go very public.

Never had a wet suitcase in all my cruises, but once had NO suitcases for the first 4 nights, due to good old British Airways leaving my undies on the tarmac at Heathrow while the rest of the plane went to Barcelona. I tell you this, there is nothing as soul-destroying as having to wash and dry your smalls every night for the first four nights of your cruise! To address your specific complaint - I have found that RCI customer services have always bent over backwards to assist in any problem I have had. If you call the UK number, you are transferred to their Miami headquarters, and nothing is too much trouble for them. Give them a ring.

Thanks for advice and commisserations. So far no luck with UK Customer Service. Apart from this baggage incident, the cruise was superb and we enjoyed every minute of it.
