Blyth - Answered a Question by MCILDUFF (10 Sep 08 20:51)

Yes there will be a channel on your TV in your cabin which will allow you to do this but keep the receipts you pick up and check them off with the information you can see on your account and if then happy you can destroy them, but that might be a bit boring to do on a holiday but it does mean any error is picked up by you quickly. One I had this year showed I was in fact buying a drink in the bar when in fact I was in the Cinema involved in the muster station drill, but that was the only error I have picked up in sometime.

Was on Sea Princess last November, and the facility to look at your account on TV in your stateroom was not available then. On Grand last month, and not available there either. Think it's only on newer ships.

This does surprise me, most ships now have this it does make life a lot easier keeping tags on all the items you pay for whilst on board a ship - Thanks Bill.

Absolutely, you can check on the tv in your stateroom, call pursers office from stateroom phone or pop down in person, also you can pay at any time so every few days we settled the bill in cash. Then we simply ran up more charges for the next few days. Keep receipts though as some times you get a couple of sneeky additions.

I love smaller ships, I don’t need a choice of 14 restaurants, multiple bars and lounges, rock climbing walls and ice-skating rinks, if anything it is too much choice and I find you end up flitting from bar to bar all evening, not settling in one place. Give me a Fred Olsen ship with one bar, one lounge and one theatre and I have all I need thank you very much.A couple of years ago I had the chance to visit the Hebridean Princess, the little ship that has been chartered by her Majesty f...

By Paul Craggs

Paul Craggs's blog

Now its a general fact that us Brits do not like to tip as much as our American cousins and when it comes to tipping its a bit of a mine field so I thought I would explain as much as I can When it comes to tipping its a general rule of thumb that on most ships its not actually compulsory there are ways round it and im about to details them out To get a bit of clarification it was only actually Norwegian that were compulsory and now they are all inclusive anyways so I guess it ...
