Book early, preferably as soon as you are on board or better still if you know your formal nights you can book online. I booked a facial appointment online about a month before I left. Go to and all you have to do is type in your booking ref number you have with Princess (not the company ref number if you booked through another agent). You can book most appointments and shore excursions online. Saves the hassle of booking them on board. With 2000 passengers on board, you can imagine how many women want their hair done on formal nights. Hope this helps.

I agree-book asap when you board. Ask the hair-salon/beauty-salon receptionist on what nights the formal nights are and book your appointment times accordingly. Make sure you are sorted re any excursions you may have on the same days as well i.e know approx. what time you will be back on board. All this can be sorted online beforehand usually. I have just sailed on the Costa Serena with 3,800 passengers and i was so glad that i booked my 2 Formal Night appointments within the first couple of hours of boarding. I was sat there having my hair blow dryed whilst lady after lady was turned away as they were completely booked up on the first day. So don't hang about for booking. The stylists are brilliant by the way, i have such unruly hair and they really are top-notch hairdressers, they made me feel a million dollars and my hairdos stayed until i had them redone-wonderful and so nice after a hard days sightseeing and suncream everywhere. A wonderful experience to sit there having your hair done, cuppa in hand, watching the sea and islands go by while reliving your lovely day sightseeing-really lovely!!
