All I can say is ditto the above and that it was wonderful and the ports were fantastic, We walked around Cadiz, Barcelona we went to Montserrat which was great, well worth the trip. Monaco well what can I say - brilliant place. We then had half day in Florence and the afternoon in Pisa, this was rushed and only got half an hour at Pisa. Rome was excellent and Sardina was our relax day so walked around the port. Mallorca we had been to before so we did the trip the the Caves of Drach which was good then Gibralter for the duty free fags. We had such a great time we have re booked for next June and will do the other tours that are available. We wont go back to Florence as we want to see Pisa properly. You will not be dissapointed.

Southworth - Answered a Question by carberry (21 Jun 07 14:58)

Yes.We have just returned from that cruise. It was excellent in all respects. Our favourite excursions were Rome,Barcelona and Monaco. We thought Sardinia a bit overrated. The food was unbelievably excellent, the crew very helpful and polite, the entertainment was mainly first class and the photographs ( individual) at the formal dinners were the best we have ever had, although admittedly a bit pricey. If we had a complaint it would be the imposition of 10 dollars per person per day tip, included on the bill. They say this is optional but include it on the bill.Wereduced ours to 7 dollars per day. .All in all a wonderful trip and we will definitely sail on the Sea Princess again G.Southworth.Wigan.

We were also on this cruise...We did the Seville on your own excursion which was was barcelona which we did on our from ship was less than 10 euros or there was a public bus from the terminal for 3 euros or ship bus was 5 euros...Hop on hop off bus was an excellent way to explore the city....19 euros for the day from Las Ramblas. Monte Carlo was easy to explore on your own...tender ashore and go up the hill to the left of the pier to the palace and lots of little shops, cathedral and wonderful views...Livorno we did the excursion to Florence with guided walk and then do your own thing...we found this very tiring in the very hot weather ...three hour guided walk was too long with no coffee break and then another three hours to explore it was too next day we were too tired to do our own thing to Rome ....we will do it in October on our next cruise!!! but we did explore Civitavecchia which is a very nice little town with nice promenade area. Free port shuttle bus to the entrance and then the railway station is five mins walk to the right along the seafront and trains to Rome are around 9 euros....then Alghero which we also thought was quite a nice old walled town which we explored on foot. Palma Majorca you can either get a shuttle into the city centre and cathedral area from the ship but we've been there before so we walked up into the area behind the cruise port and found a huge shopping centre with some nice shops. Just time for a coffee as well in a little cafe and then back to the ship (only half day here) Gibraltar we had been to many times before so just walked up to the shopping area to get duty free cigarettes cheaper than on the ship but perfume was more expensive! Plenty of Taxis by the ship to take you around the Rock quite cheaply! We thought the itinerary was superb...Probably our favourite was Monte Carlo but we loved it all...Bay of Biscay was a bit bumpy both ways so keep low on the ship when you can! Food in the dining room was excellent but Horizon Court was a bit touch and go...not always hot. We cut the tips by half which we thought was a fair amount..but you can remove them altogether if you want. they do try and make you feel guilty though!! We have seen better entertainment but some good comedians/comedienne.. It was our second trip on this ship and we think it had improved slightly.

Emma Davis's blog

A few years ago i was lucky enough to take a voyage with Hurtigruten onboard the Finnmarken. After being a little apprehensive about the trip it actually turned out to be one of the most wonderful and magical trips i have ever taken. it was just something completely different o my normal ‘holiday’ , the scenery, the excursions, the food onboard everything was just fantastic and I will always absolutley rave on about how fantastic a voyage with Hurtigruten is , and even more so if ...
