Neil and Ida Down - Answered a Question by McDonald (10 Dec 07 15:15)

If you type in "Alaska and weather and time of year" into the Search space above you will get a variety of answers as this is often coming up. A balcony is always good in my opinion and I have some very interesting early morning footage from the balcony on the cruisewe did, and yes the longer the better, 14/15 nights weould be great. Sometimes hit and miss but whale watching is a must and, if you can afford it and the weather is good, the seaplane trip to Misty Valley is wonderful....Neil.

The middle of the season in July would be a good time to go since it will the warmest. Regarding a balcony, absolutely this is a must! The whale watching trip is a must but make sure you book before you go to ensure a place. Also the train ride up the hils where the gold rush took place is very pleasant. Its a lovely cruise and up to now my most enjoyable. Howver, we are off to the Antartic in January and I am hoping this is as good. ............. Norman .
