The words Travel Agent strike fear every time I read it. Use this as learning curve & go to a proper cruise agent next time round & these issues should disappear. Also you'll probably save money into the bargain.....Regards Wilba .

Your agent sounds pretty inept as they should certainly know whether you paid a surcharge to start off with as it should have been added or been included on your invoice depending on when you booked. They should also be aware if Princess is refunding this surcharge and how they are doing it. So if you have paid it and Princess are refunding it then there are two ways this will happen, one will be that your final amount to be paid will have this amount knocked off the total or the second is that you will receive a credit to you onboard account. Admittedly with the latter many passengers don't know about until they get on the ship but your agent should know and should be able to tell you. The fact that you didn't get an "cabin spend" is, I'm afraid, your fault because that is an incentive that some agents use to get you to book with them and not a natural allocation from Princess. I know what I would do next time I book a cruise and I wouldn't be shy in telling people why I would not use that agent again. .....Neil.

We are on Grand Princess in March (booked last May). We paid our final invoice just before Christmas and two or three days later we received a call from our agent asking for our card details as Princess were refunding the fuel charges. We do use a proper cruise agent, though.

Hello, we are going on the Grand Princess to the caribbean on the 13th march and we received our fuel refund about a month ago thanks to my travel agent who rang them to chase it up twice.. I think it depends on when the cruise was booked. If it was before they hiked up the fuel charges then u would not be entitled to it, at least that is what I was given to understand. I asked if we could have it as onboard credit but they declined so I changed it to dollars when we received it. I use Thomas Cook and Lianne the assistant manager always looks after us really well and is a star. good luck and have a great cruise.
