We are going on this cruise and P and O expect you to leave your car at Gatwick and they provide a coach to Southampton to join the ship ...your car will then be waiting for you on your return. Unfortunately we live very close to Southampton so this is not a very good deal for us so we will just make our own way home from Gatwick on our return. But I see you are from Leicester so should be quite straightforward for you to drive to Gatwick park the car and they will bus you to Southampton.

We sailed out of Southampton in January and returned to the UK via Silverjst into Stansted. I rented a car one way from Stansted to Southampton with Hertz, about £75. Very good service with no problems, I would do this again. In your case, you would have to weigh up the cost of this versus the cost of the car park.

I am frequently being asked if there is a kettle in the cabin and it is only really the British C...

I wish I had a pound for every time I have been asked this question. I could have sailed around the world in Luxury! Aah yes! but would I choose Port or Starboard for my cabin? Or left side versus the right side of the ship?I suppose it depends on where you’re headed. I know that quite a few seasoned cruisers swear by the Starboard side. Although it really depends on what type of cruise you are on.For instance, if you are sailing in one direction, North or West generally people pr...

My NON cruise holiday this Easter.

By Haydn Jones

I’ve just come back from a family Easter holiday to Spain, surprisingly not on a cruise this time. My children are of the age where we have to go away during school holidays. We decided on Benalmadena, Spain as we have been before , its not too far, and the boys love it there. The weather was absolutely glorious, we were so lucky this time of year to have 10 days of boiling sunshine. Benalmdena is a town on southern Spain’s Costa del Sol, known for its beaches and the modern Pue...
