My husband and I are joining Aurora at Auckland for the journey back to Southampton. We have previously done sectors of World Cruises and loved it. It is similar to short cruises but better. More choice of entertainment to suit all tastes (some still complain it is not good enough) Food was better. Also found the other passengers more congenial than on some recent cruises - except for sectors around Australia! You pay your onboard bill and tips by sector and this could be a good time to change restaurant and table so that you have a change of dining companions.

I have done a sector of the world cruise from Sydney to Mumbai, I disagree with Sim of Cheltenham, but of course eveyone has their own opinion. Sailing around Australia to India was fantastic, everyone is very friendly and you get to know one another quite well on a 4 to 6 week sector. The shows are as first class as ever, they fly in many different acts over the sector. One thing is that if you do all your trips with p and o it can be very expensive.

The ships were always old and small, but customers loved them none the less. Well, that’s changed con...

Looking For School Holiday Cruises?

By Amy Ginder

Amy Ginder's blog

This time of year we have a lot of calls asking for late availability for the school holidays. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but it is very late in the day. The answer is book early! Book now for 2018, if you leave it to nearer the time not only will the prices climb but you are unlikely to ge...

Thomson Cruises have made some changes in recent years and things are really working for them, in the last 5 years they have seen an increase in passenger numbers of 40%, with 20% being in the last year alone. They have always been looked down upon by a lot of customers, although unjustly so as their reviews have always been good. But with older ships and less of the pomp and ceremony of other lines they have been viewed as being at the lower end of the market. In 2016, they made a major ...
