What gets me is its only for non us guests. the cheek! just go to customer service and have them removed then its up to you who if you tip. paying £3500 for a cruise in europe is a lot. service would have to be outstanding for me to tip having paid so much not like the carribean cruises you can get for a song.

You can, but why would you want to? Tips are pooled between the staff.

Yes you can, & we do. To answer the previous answer, we do not like that idea one bit. We prefer to give our tips to those people traditionaly given, cabin steward, table waiter, busboy, etc. It is a lovely gesture at the end of the cruise to do, & on NCL 1st time we felt awful, while having the 'enforced' tips setup, not giving any at the last night, when others do. You can easily cancel your auto tips at the Guest relations desk. The problem with NCL is it's freestyle cruising. How do you tip a waiter that you may only see once or twice? Try knocking off some of the auto-tips, & settling for paying your cabin steward only.

Dont miss your ship.

By Dawn Gardener

For some reason, there seems to be more and more stories of cruise guests missing their ship when in port. I am on several cruise pages via Facebook and have heard this a lot recently where guests comment on how the ship departed leaving guests on shore because they didn’t get back in time. Last year there was the famous you tube video going around of the couple that left their kids on the ship whilst they went on shore and then missed it as it departed from Nassua with her screami...

Recently I have had quite a few discussions with customers trying to get travel insurance and at www.CRUISE.co.uk we have teamed up with Holiday Extras to offer a great insurance policy that is tailored to the cruise passenger.Holiday Extra’s recognise that people are living longer lives and that we are fitter and more active then we used to be. Were Turning Japanese!

By Collette Apak

Collette Apak's blog

Over the last couple of years we have seen a huge rise in the number of people booking cruises that visit Japan. Maybe it’s the fact that many people have done the Mediterranean & Caribbean itineraries and are now wanting to look at somewhere different or whether a certain Joanna Lumley has prompted people’s interest after her TV series? Who knows? But in answer to this demand we are celebrating all things Japanese this week. I would certainly like to take a trip there and see...
