Neil & Ida Down - Answered a Question by Freemantle (15 Oct 08 13:34)

We are very sorry to hear this and with it being half term it would be very difficult to find anything else for this period. I would, however, make it known to as many agents and cruise lines as possible that you could be available at a moments notice as cancellations do occur quite frequently so you would stand a chance if that is what you want to do. Anyway once more commiserations and here's wishing you better luck. Ida and Neil.

Wilba - Answered a Question by Freemantle (15 Oct 08 15:17)

Comiserations. It's a rotten thing to happen & we were victim to this a few years ago with RCI. They sent us voucher which was valid for 12 months so hopefully all the cruise lines offer similar time frames. Regards Wilba.

Weller - Answered a Question by Freemantle (17 Oct 08 08:15)

Hi Freemantle, Like you we are in the same boat - or not as the case now seems to be !! Personally I don't think the compensation of a refund and 25% discount on a future cruise is enough . This is not based on trying to be greedy on an unfortunate situation, but more on the fact that many people who booked this cruise, were possibly using this weekend to celebrate a special occasion ! I booked this cruise eight MONTHS ago as a special Birthday surprise for my husband and now it's too late to arrange anything as a substitute !! Considering the Fred Olsen cruise line is probably worth billions I don't think they would have been too hard pressed to have offered much more than what they are doing, for all the inconvenience that this has caused to all of us, and who have been let down badly. Obviously the breakdown is not their fault, but customer care should be paramount - especially as I'm sure they are extremely well covered with their insurance !! Good luck with your next reservation wherever that may be !! Joy Weller, Selsey, West Sussex .

So, the new Royal Caribbean ship The Symphony of the Seas has done her maiden voyage and will be delighting her customers as this ship is amazing.I was lucky enough to board her for two nights recently and she didn’t disappoint. Another ship in the Oasis class along with her sister ship, The Oasis, The Allure & Harmony of the seas. She’s identical to the Harmony. It’s so nice when you go on a brand new ship. I can see why everyone books in advance to get on any maiden vo...

Royal Caribbean seem to always be one step ahead from the rest when it comes to technology. They seem to be investing to make sure they have the infrastructure on their ships to have correct Wi-Fi and the latest technologies. The newer Royal Caribbean ships are all using a new technology, marketed as Voom which has improved internet access aboard. Here you can stream and watch videos on your devices easily.Royal Caribbean are also working on a new boarding process that uses facial recogni...
