I sailed from Southampton on it's first cruise after the refit.
While the refit was not complete and workmen were still laying carpets and sanding decks I think there will be some positives and some negatives as a result when the refit is complete.
1)2 pools are better than one and a laundrette is handy.
2)Pub feature was very popular with Irish singer adding good craic.
3)Excellent library and internet centre.
4)Much improved Gym.
5)More space on Marquee deck but more people also.
1)Prom deck spoilt due to lifeboat stations being fitted there.
2)Coral and Neptune Lounge still same size but more passengers resulting in no room on occasions.
3)Ship does not seem as stable to me due to inxreased length.
4)Staff seemed stressed on occasions maybe due to extra workload.
I personally prefared the ship the way it was before being extended.
Hope this helps.
It is not so much a question of sailing on it AFTER the refit, more like DURING it from the latest reports! The ship left Portsmouth for the Med with work still in progress and with a number of facilities, including the launderette out of commission! I am sure that it will be an improvement on the old Braemar ONCE the work is totally completed and everything has bedded in? Give it a month or so. Happy cruising.
