We have booked a summer break as a family on this ship too. I rang FO to be told that if it is a dedicated Family Friendly cruise there will be child hosts on board who will run some activities for children but it's not a babysitting service. I have also been told they have childrens menus but I am not sure if that is in the main dining room or separate.
I have been told by others who have sailed with FO on summer holiday trips but not on Balmoral that they have seen children with these hosts and they have activities such as dedicated pool times and coketail parties. They have also had a 5pm mealtime.
I hoping for a bit of both! A few activites so they can mix and make friends plus dining room menus which are slightly less fancy but still good fare (as opposed to things with chips)
Have a great holiday.
We are not on the cruise but sailed on the Balmoral in June. I would say that the average age was around 65/70! We are a lot younger than that and it certainly didn't spoil our holiday.. have a good cruise!
