Braemar is wonderful. She was our first cruise ship. I have travelled with Monarch three times now. P&O have stopped using them and changed to First Choice which has much better legroom. I don't like Monarch and some of the planes they use seem quite dated. However, just think of the wonderful time waiting for you on Braemar and it won't seem so bad.

Hi there, We did the same cruise two years ago. At that time Fred Olsen was using Thomson. We are going to the Med next year with Fred and have been told the flight is with Monarch. Having flown with them this year to the Dom Rep I foresee no real problems. We were charged almost £500 for premium seats but to be honest it is a bit expensive for what you get. They told us complementry drinks, hardly at that price. There planes are dated but not to bad. You will love you cruise, the Braemar is superb.

Just got back from Braemar to Caribbean over Xmas/New Year. Whole flight was Braemar passengers thus good atmosphere, with all drinks FoC. Legroom not v.good (but better than *some* cheap airlines), but this became more of a problem on the return where you need to sedate yourself so you'll not notice that your spine is becoming deformed.

P&O Cruises recently announced that that would be building a 9th ship to join the P&O Fleet in 2020. This comes only two years after the Britannia was released and I am pleased to say that after quite a few problems she has become a firm favourite in the P&O Fleet.Hopefully P&O will take forward the feedback on Britannia but we are yet to see what this new ship will look like; all P&O have said is that she will be 180,000 Gross tons and carry 5,200 Guests. This is the larg...

Your River Cruise Questions An...

Hannah Wilson's blog

Any one who has followed my Blog over the years knows that my favourite type of cruising is river cruising. I did my first river cruise about 6 years ago, the first of many, and I have never looked back. It ticks all the boxes for me, small ships, friendly staff and passengers, fabulous scenery all day every day, and being docked right in the centre of which ever city you are visiting so no long transfers, not to mention fabulous food!I just find that I enjoy these cruises so much more...
