Know how you feel as I felt the same before our first but find black EVENING trousers/skirts worn with evening type tops are a boon. Saves on packing and if you have enough appropriate tops to cover the formal evenings you'll be fine. I've been on 17 cruises and find that there are always the ones who overdress and many who just wear simple evening/cocktail dresses or formal trousers/skirts. DON'T WORRY just go and enjoy! We too are going on the QM2 15th Aug.

I do take an evening black cocktail type dress (very plain) and dress this up with coloured shoes etc. or like the previouse reply, I also take a pair of black evening trousers and a few sparkle/dress type tops, hey presto you'll find you do have plenty, they don't all dress up in tiaras and their crown jewels (some do) Get out your costume jewels (I presume you lack million pound diamons etc) But i must admit formal nights are a sight not to be missed, they're generally lovely nights. I mean hey people do not dress for dinner nowadays and it looks fab. ENJOY every minute of it, you'll be hooke.
