Go for it, and both ways if you can afford it.There is no way you will be bored on this amazing liner. On my fourth round trip 26 June. You will love the dancing, shows, lectures and Planetarium. The Canyon Ranch Spa is very good. You will not regret the experience. Richar.

Once you've been on a cruise you will not want a land holiday again. I first cruised 20 years ago and my family and friends said 'no way' but having persuaded them to try it over the years they are now dedicated cruisers.

Never actually experienced Transatlantic but had 5 days at sea before we reached the Panama Canal and it was fabulous - it was the bit I was dreading but it turned out to be the highlight. Enjoy if you go - it is a fabulous ship with plenty to occupy you - but make sure you choose a cabin facing south whichever way you travel across the atlantic (catch any sun) especially if you have a balcony.

I guess you know him best and not sure if you've cruised before. We're (just)fifty and went last year on the westbound passage(an extra hour each day) and adored every minute. We went to the spa most days, the gym, planetarium, played scrabble, attended lectures, made new friends, read (super library) ate and drank very, very well and just got to spend lots and lots of time together which is what we wanted. There's nothing like watching the ocean roll past day after day - totally mesmeric! If you go - and he'd be mad not to - get an obstructed view balcony - don't think it's worth paying a premium on Atlantic crossing and remember port out, starboard home for maximum sun.
