Not for general food but yes you’re right, drinks and 15% extra for tips on that bill and also visits to a speciality restaurant, the Spa health and beauty treatments, ships excursions and tips for the escorts, gratuities, laundry, sometimes the shuttle bus ashore, your personal expenses whilst ashore, the golf professionals fees if you use him and the charge for using the golf simulator if it is in operation. There are probably several I have forgotten so allow some extra for these……it’s worth every penny….Nei.

All food including room service is free unless you want to upgrade to todd english. tea. coffee, squash and water is free on deck 7 in the kings court. otherwise the bars are cheap enough (no duty to pay and all in dollars). there are free self service laundrettes dotted around the ship. spa is cheap and with plenty of choices of treatments (go on spoil the missus!). you can pull out of the tips by going to the pursers office once on board and they will remove from the list. very easy and no questions asked. the ship excursions are cheap but to be honest if you are doing the caribbean don't bother and just hire a taxi once you are ashore. read my recent review on this website.

Marella Cruises, the best kept secret in cruising, surely not! For most people when you say Thomson or Marella Cruises, and ask them what they think of them, their reaction is often one of displeasure and statements of oh I would never cruise with them or only if I have to. But why?I think for a lot of people, the image they...

So on our recent Fjords cruise on Balmoral myself and Holly decided that having splashed out, quite literally, on the Rib Adventure in Eidfjord that we would just do our own thing in Bergen, get off the ship and wander around, however, just outside the cruise terminal we happened upon a Hop On Hop Off Bus Stop and decided that we would have a tour round Bergen on that, covering more ground. The tour takes around an hour and you get a good taste of the city, Norway’s second largest, all ...
