We have been on the QM2 several times and the special occasion will be there whatever cabin you are in. You have a balcony which is important and the rest of the ship is wonderful and there are always things to do and places to find. The formal nights are stunning without being at all intimidating. I would suggest the only real point of upgrading is to grill level but this is very expensive, although quite wonderful as each night is a total dining experience akin to a 5 star restaurant. If this is not feasible do not worry as you will have a wonderful time on the best ship afloat and the food in the Britannia is also splendid. Do find the Commodore's Club at the front of the ship on deck 10 - a great place for a drink and the side of this there are glass lifts that take you down to deck 7. Afternoon tea is also splendid but one of the few times that can get over popular as for most of the time you will be amazed where all the other passengers are. Have a wonderful time and I am envious as I can't wait to have another trip on the superb QM2.

The ships were always old and small, but customers loved them none the less. Well, that’s changed con...

Looking For School Holiday Cruises?

By Amy Ginder

Amy Ginder's blog

This time of year we have a lot of calls asking for late availability for the school holidays. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but it is very late in the day. The answer is book early! Book now for 2018, if you leave it to nearer the time not only will the prices climb but you are unlikely to ge...

Thomson Cruises have made some changes in recent years and things are really working for them, in the last 5 years they have seen an increase in passenger numbers of 40%, with 20% being in the last year alone. They have always been looked down upon by a lot of customers, although unjustly so as their reviews have always been good. But with older ships and less of the pomp and ceremony of other lines they have been viewed as being at the lower end of the market. In 2016, they made a major ...
