You could try the Novtel http://www.eurobookings.com/southampton-hotels-gb/novotel-southampton.html?label=gg_en_bh_221974-united-kingdom-southampton-novotel-southampton&gclid=COmV9eOvp5gCFUse3godDBEZmg As far as trips go it depends it is is a full day or a half day one.We fine we pay bewteen £30 and £40 for the half day ones we avoid the all day as we are there to enjoy our self and not go on an endurance test. You can hire taxis/minibuses at the port and do your own thing but jusy make sure you agree a price before you go if you did meet up with some other passengers who have cruised before you could maybe join them or get some useful tips, but whatever happens make sure you are back in plenty of time before the ship sails or it will go without you. Not the case if you are on one of their excursions, but thats the choice you have to think about.

Ring the 0800 number at the top of this page for best prices. The question about hotels in Southampton was discussed here recently.

You can look on Royal Caribbean Web Site and check out the excursions for your cruise. All ships own port tours are always very overpriced, all the local taxis will do exactly same tours and or modify them to your own needs at a much better rate, especially if you are travelling with family or sometimes you can get another couple to share with you. Do some research beforehand and then just negotiate with the taxi drivers.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn next to the dock we were sailing from and watched the Indie depart from across the car park. We chose it because it was offering 15 day's free parking-I don't know if it was a special offer but we asked when we rang to enquire about rooms. We embarked and were looking down on our car-when we disembarked we didn't bother with the ship's luggage collection, but simply wheeled our luggage off and were on the road by 6am. Check where it's docking at the end of your cruise. Enjoy-jo.

A bit late maybe, but we are going on the ios on 1st aug. We have booked 2 nights at the etap hotel in southampton. Quite basic i believe, but clean and pleasant. It is £35 for a room per night. Can't complain at that.

2018 is going to be an exciting year for cruising and Celebrity are really mixing it up a bit!For a few years now we have had the lovely Eclipse based in Southampton, which has been great as P&O, Cunard and Royal Caribbean notably dominated the port until the 5* Eclipse was based there. Just what cruisers needed. I even personally sailed on the Eclipse back in May for a mini cruise to Le Harve. It is a beautiful ship it has to be said and the food, service, cabins etc are all top notch. B...
