Hi,we will be stopping in monaco in july and i had looked up various web sites looking information on trips local transport and nice places to have lunch.I then found a web page regarding tourism in monaco,I emailed them requesting all the information that i required WELL you should see what i received!along with brochures for different places to see i received a cardboard wallet(simular to the ones you get your photos in from getting them developed)full of mini maps and information on transport, where to eat,the cost of entering places of interest including the casino i never realised you had to pay just to see inside the further in you go the dearer it costs! and when i asked where the best place to have a light lunch, somewhere the locals would eat i was told in monaco-ville the old part of town.I am now doing this for all the other ports of call we are doing were we will explore on our own.hope this helps.
Very easy when you get off the tender turn right walk along beach front for about 5mins. & on your left you will see a sign for the railway, then you cross railway line to get train to Monaco, we didn't have timetable but we were not waiting very long. enjo.
When you get to Cannes you will be tendered ashore. The railway station is about half a mile behind the promenade and there are regular trains to Monaco, as well as to Nice, Villefranche, Menton etc. The cost is a few euros and it takes about 20 minutes. At Monaco again the railway station is about half a mile or so from the harbour, where there is a lift upto the casino area - so easily doable in a day - but do allow plenty of time to get back!!
In Lisbon you can walk around town yourself as the ships usually dock within walking distance and there are plenty of buses and even some trams to take you around.
We were in Lisbon a few years ago and there were buses that you could hop on and off, with commentaries in various languages inc English. I think we got on at the main square where the cruise shuttle dropped us off.
