Miami is one of the slowest for US immegration. Make sure you arrive 4 hours before your flight is due or you might miss it !!! then follow neals advice and get a lounge pass from your travel agent here.

There is a left luggage section at Miami Airport or you can get a taxi to somewhere like the Sofitel Hotel just near the airport and use their facilities. You might hire a car for the day and leave it at the airport office. Things to see include the Art Deco area of Miami, Sawgrass Mills Shopping Mall Fort Lauderdale, an Airboat ride near Sawgrass, in fact Fort Lauderdale has far more to offer. There are other shopping malls in Miami. Failing that you can buy a voucher for lounge admission at Miami Airport which will allow you to stay there in comfort for three hours with refreshments and free drinks before your flight but make sure that you get one on the inside, through security, and in the right Concourse for your flight. The cost is £20 each and I think well worth it. .... Neil .

For centuries these apples have been used to make a bubbly fermented cider and distilling that cid...

Best Low Cost Cruises

By Michael Wilkinson

Michael Wilkinson's blog

Best Low Cost CruisesSince the advent of low-cost airlines, savvy travellers have come to realise that no-frills doesn’t mean no-satisfaction. Indeed, what is often perceived as prudent when it comes to air travel also holds true in cruising. Most British cruise lines would recoil in horror at being termed ‘budget’ so keep in their good books I will term them Low Cost. There is a wealth of affordable voyages available if you know where to look. Over-capacity in cruising hot-s...

Silversea was not meant to be!

By Barbara Hopley

Barbara Hopley's blog

On Monday 22 May I was booked to go on a ship visit of the ‘Silver Whisper’ by Silversea Cruises. We get invited to see ships all the time but do them on our days off as too busy to take time out of a working week. That’s how dedicated I am to see as many ships as possible as so much easier to sell when you have seen them.I had been looking forward to seeing this ship as have never seen a Silversea ship, it had been booked for a few weeks and I made my arrangements at home ...
