From January 2008 you can’t smoke in staterooms, although if you have a balcony or veranda you can light up there. Ignore this at your peril as a $250 cleaning fee will be added to the accounts of any guests who smoke or allow smoking in their non-smoking staterooms. On the plus side, depending on your point of view, there are designated smoking areas in many of the lounges and on designated open air decks. Can't help with prices although there is a limited selection. Cheapest ashore prices we found so far were in Barbados and Pireas [port for Athens].

Staying in a little cottage in the village of Thornham this will b...

Rule(s) Britannia

A couple of weeks ago I set off for Southampton to join Brittania for a friends Daughters Hen do. We set off early morning to make sure we would get there in plenty of time and as this was only a 2 night cruise and wanted to make the most of it. A few bottles of Prosecco and other beverages later we arrived at the terminal around 12.45.In usual P&O fashion we were handed a coloured card with a letter on and had to wait our turn. Unbeknown to us at this time there were system issues and ...
